- The basic process involves the extraction of edible fat from the adipose tissues of animals at low temperature.
|
- After inspection, raw materials are ground and heated with steam to liberate the fat fraction, creating a hot slurry of fat, water, and protein particles.
|
- The protein particles (grease solids) are removed from the liquid phase in a horizontal decanter centrifuge, following which it is despatched to a land fill site.
|
- The resultant liquids phase is separated in a vertical self-cleaning disc centrifuge, with the clarified fat being pumped to storage tanks, and the water phase to drain.
|
- The product is held in steel storage tanks pending QA release for packing, or bulk despatch.
